Microsoft Windows

What is Windows?

Windows is a product line of operating systems developed and marketed by Microsoft. It is the most popular operating system, mainly due to it’s simplicity. Like every operating system, it has it’s pros and cons, which are on the right.

Simple and easy to use, a lot of cool features

The large amount of features may cause your computer to be slow, especially on older devices

Support for new hardware, as almost every hardware company makes Windows compatible products

Windows is very unsecure compared to the other operating systems on the list, and is closed source

Linux

What is Linux?

Linux itself is a kernel, not an operating system, which was created by Linus Torvalds. Since it is open source, people change the code and redistribute it as operating systems. It is a very good OS for professional coders and programmers because it is compatible with a wide range of coding languages. Pros and cons are on the right.

Open source and there are almost 1000 Linux distros (distributions)

Can be complicated to use, especially for inexperienced users, and technical support is poor

Extremely secure and there are some extremely lightweight distros, even under 1gb

There are much less games on Linux, for example there are no High-End AAA games
